Kristi Marie Sims, 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2023. She was loved by so many and is missed deeply by her family and friends.

Those who knew her appreciated her zest for life, endless positivity, and limitless sense of humor. She could light up a room and loved to make everyone laugh.

Born August 1, 1958, Kristi was the third eldest of seven children to Joseph Lee Childress and Barbara Joan Holladay in Seat Pleasant, Maryland. She graduated from Northern High School in Owings, MD, in 1976.

In the late 1990s, Kristi moved to Pensacola, FL, where she established a career in real estate, but her favorite job title was always "mom" or "nana."

Kristi loved time spent with her children, Heather Edmunds (Jordan), Brooke Potrzeba (Jon) and Dominic Potrzeba (Maddie) and especially her grandchildren, Ellis, Audrey, and Frances.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at 5eleven Palafox, 511 South Palafox Street, Pensacola, FL 32502.

Diagnosed with glioblastoma in March 2021, Kristi continued to do as she always had – pushing boundaries and beating the odds. Her family offers a special thank you to the staff at the Sacred Heart Cancer Center in Pensacola, FL, for fighting with her and supporting the family.
