Lamon Machlin
"Max" Williams,Dds, Msd
March 3, 1937 – May 11, 2016
He was born March 3, 1937, the only child to Walter Lamon and Catherine Harrell Williams, and was the grandson of J.J. "Boy" and Annie Williams. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Holmes County High School in 1955. He attended University of Florida, Gainesville and Florida State University, Tallahassee where he completed his pre-dental requirements. At the University of Florida he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He graduated from Emory University Dental School, Atlanta, GA in 1962 and practiced general dentistry in Ocilla, GA from 1962 to 1965. He returned to Emory to specialize in periodontics and practiced in Albany, GA from graduation until 1971. In 1971 he opened his periodontal practice in Pensacola, where he practiced until his retirement in 1997. After his retirement he served as adjunct faculty for the Pensacola Junior College Dental Hygiene Program, retiring again in 2002. He was a former member of the Escambia-Santa Rosa Dental Society, Hidalgos, Rebellaires, Order of Tristan, and was a Knight in the 1979 Fiesta of Five Flags Court of DeLuna.
Max is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lynne V. Williams; his daughters, Natalie Renee Williams and Paige (David) Williams Patrick of CA; step-daughter, Becky (Chris) Bray Washler of Pensacola; step-son, Geoffrey (Joselyn) A. Bray of Pearland, TX and granddaughters, Taylor R. Patrick and Emily E. Patrick of CA.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W. Wright St., Pensacola, FL with a reception following in the Parish Hall.
Honorary pallbearers will be Drs. Kermit Adkins, Jim Balcolm, Lou Fazio, Dan Rentz, Charlie White and Bob Woods (Lynn Haven, FL).
The interment of ashes will be at Bonifay Cemetery, Bonifay, FL.
