Elaine "Laney" Frances Pokrant, age 83, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Laney was born in Pensacola to the late Awald E. and Phoebe M. Roberts Pokrant on March 5, 1938. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by, her brother, Awald Pokrant and a sister, Carol Ann Bosserman.

Laney was a loving sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. She was a graduate of Pensacola High School, class of 1956. She enjoyed life and understood how precious it was, especially after surviving a battle with cancer in the 1960's. She cherished her lunch dates with her LOL's (Little old Ladies) and was fond of traveling and spending time with her family.

Laney had been an active member and previous President of the Pilot Club of Pensacola (an international Service Organization). Laney worked at Biggs Sporting Goods and later retired from Emmanuel Sheppard and Condon after a career in accounting.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sisters, Vivian Oberhaus, of Liberty Center, OH and Florence Pokrant, of Pensacola, FL.; two nieces and ten nephews also survive her.

A service to celebrate Elaine "Laney" Frances Pokrant's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola FL. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM.

A committal service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Bayview Memorial Park. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at Bayview Memorial Park at 9:50 AM Wednesday.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital and Fresenius Medical Care of Cordova for the loving care they showed Laney and her family.
