Larry Thomas "Tommy" McKenzie, Jr., 63, of Pensacola, FL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. He was born in Pensacola to Larry and Shirley McKenzie, on November 17, 1959, and he was saved and baptized at an early age at East Brent Baptist Church.

Tommy graduated from Woodham High School and the welding program at Pensacola Junior College before starting careers at American Cyanamid, Lawn Master, Sikes Pipe Co., and D&B Builders. A skilled mechanic, Tommy could fix any engine and built boats, cars, and dune buggies from the ground up. There was no job too big or too small.

He enjoyed riding up and down the Escambia River and riding around on the golf cart and scooters. Tommy was funny, kind, and he loved spending time with his family.

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Shirley McKenzie.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Sumlin (Sam); grandsons, Sawyer and Samuel Sumlin; sisters, Tammy Baker (Robert), Pam Powell (Mark), and Mary Jane Turnipseed (Mike); and several nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
