Laura Jean Norwood, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

Laura was born to the late Robert and Addie Lee Morris in Pensacola, FL on September 19, 1944. Laura was a lifelong resident of Pensacola, spending many years raising a family before beginning a career in retail. She dedicated over 30 years to her work at Kmart, where she met many dear friends. Upon retiring, she moved her focus to helping the community through her church. She regularly volunteered with a backpacks for kids program and providing meals to those in need.  She was kind and welcoming to everyone that she met. Laura enjoyed fishing, crabbing, gardening, and going to concerts-especially Bands on the Beach. Most of all, though, she loved her family. She was so proud of each member of her family, and she was more than happy to tell anyone about a latest accomplishment, upcoming wedding, or a new baby in the family. Laura was loved by all, but she was adored by her great- grandchildren; and she fully reciprocated that adoration.

Laura is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Morris and Addie Lee Morris; sisters, Linda Morris, Mary Hall, and Sharlene Penton; daughters, Terry Norwood, Cindy Carrow and Sherry Mills; grandson, Tyler Norwood;  and her beloved dog, Max.

She is survived by sons, Dee Norwood and Randy Norwood (Stacey); sister, Judy Delmundo; brother, Bobby Morris; daughter-in-law, Lynn Norwood; grandchildren, David, Chris, Matt, Blake, Ashely, Michelle, Sarah, Kate; great grandchildren; Raya, Lindy, Samuel, Oliver, Skyler, Ameila, Mason, Easton, Myra, Kacey, Conner, Kaylesta, Alex, Olivia; many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until a memorial service to begin at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Donnie Petersen, officiating.
