Lawrence B. "Bill" Frey, 91, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Bill grew up in Blanchester, OH and obtained a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Illinois. He was a Naval Officer and met his wife and Pensacola native, Nellie Kuester Frey while stationed in Pensacola, FL. After missing their first date because he overslept, he still found his way into Nellie's heart, and they were married for 66 years. During his career as a Dentist, Bill was elected President of the Northwest Florida District Dental Association and served as the Florida Delegate to the American Dental Association. In his professional life he was recognized by his colleagues for his exceptional skills in Dentistry, creativity and professionalism. His patients knew him as a generous and compassionate doctor. He was an avid golfer and member of Pensacola Country Club and Tiger Point Country Club for many years. His devotion to family and friends stands as an example of how to live a life full of generosity, loyalty and purpose. He devoted the second half of his life to instill these lessons in his loving grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nellie Kuester Frey; daughters, Jennifer Frey and Barbara Woodsmall; sister, Virginia Jones; five grandchildren, Michael Lawrence Stolfi, Natalie Stolfi Shearlock, Margaret Stolfi, York Woodsmall Dixon and Pierson Woodsmall; great grandchildren, Margaret Piper Shearlock and Coralyn Nell and Roman Lawrence Stolfi. Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 at 10:00am at First United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Ken Autrey. He will be inurned at Barrancas National Cemetery in a private ceremony.
