Lee Waltrip
, age 77, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017. He was born July 23, 1939, in Dyess, Arkansas, the son of the late Lorene (nee Wagster) and Charlie Waltrip.
He is survived by daughters Laura Waltrip of Pensacola and Beth Waltrip of Louisville, Kentucky; sister Charlene Waltrip Kennedy of Crystal City, Missouri; brothers Jerry Waltrip of Pensacola, Steve Waltrip of Pensacola, and James Richard Waltrip of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three nieces; and three nephews.
He was a Festus High School graduate, received a B.S. degree from University of Missouri at Rolla and an M.B.A. degree from the University of West Florida. He retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Escambia County, Florida, Utilities Authority and was awarded the Bronze Star in 1967 for meritorious service in Vietnam with the Army Corp of Engineers.
Visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus, Missouri with interment following in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City.
