Lena Alice York, 79 of Pensacola, FL was born in East Boston, Massachusetts on January 28, 1929 and passed away on Friday, September 26, 2008. She had resided in Memphis, TN before moving to Pensacola in 2000. She worked at John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston, then as a Sales Associate for Sears & Roebuck in Memphis. Mrs. York was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Fred T. York on Sept. 17, 2008 and also by her parents, Domenick and Anna Rigione and brothers; Ralph, Junior, George and Mario Rigione. Survivors include her son, Richard (Donna) York; grandchildren, Karen and Jonathan York; sister-in-laws, Susan Rigione of FL and Myrtie Busby of MS; a brother-in-law, Howard York of AR and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29, 2008 from 5-7pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel and graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 11am at Barrancas National Cemetery with Rev. Nancy Warner officiating. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5401 Corporate Woods Drive, Pensacola, FL 32504.
