Leo Patrick Ostoyic, 78, a resident of DeBary, FL passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Orange City, FL. Leo was born in Kingston, NY. He received his college degree from Ulster County College. Leo was an entrepreneur and owned many businesses throughout his life. He liked to collect coins and also design and engineer things. In his life, he was a Navy seaman having served on 5 different ships over a 14 year career, and during that time was awarded the Good Conduct Medal while aboard the USS Lloyd Thomas and was also awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Leo was also a public servant with the town of Saugerties, NY Police Dept. Leo led a life of serving and protecting others to the best of his ability.
Leo was preceded in death by his mother and father and brothers, Tony and Mickey; his sisters, Eva and Ginny.
He is survived by his daughter, Amy Smart and granddaughter, Lexi and grandson, Gaven; his son, Ron Ostoyic and granddaughters, Christy, Mikailah; his son, William Ostoyic and grandson, Shane and granddaughters, Brianna and Mikayla; a brother, Lester Ostoyic and sister, Mary Rudolf.
Visitation will be held at 9am Tuesday, January 16, 2018 with Funeral services beginning at 10am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Chaplain Mike Mashburn will officiate. Burial follows at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola with Navy honors.
Pallbearers will include Jason Moreau, Brian Smith and Gavin Smart.
