Lewis Emmanuel "Buster" Zangas, age 90, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022.
Buster was born in Pensacola on January 2, 1932 to the late Louis and Mattie Blackshear Zangas. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bobby" Marchelos.
Buster proudly served as major in the Marine Patrol. He had attended Catholic High School here in Pensacola and was a longtime member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where he served as a Deacon. He was an avid fisherman and was well respected among his fishing peers.
Those left to cherish his memory include, his wife, Lorita Zangas, of Pensacola, FL; a daughter, Nikki Zangas Pagonis, of Gulf Breeze, FL; two grandchildren, Margaret (Jorge) Chavez, Orlando, FL and Alex Pagonis, Madison, AL; two step-children, John Wesley Hagin, of Dayton, OH and Grace Elizabeth Hagin, of Niceville, FL.
A visitation will be held 9:30am until a Funeral Service to begin at 10:00am Wednesday October 5, 2022, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. John Kalantzis, celebrant.
Active pallbearers will be, Nick Geeker, Jim Mohamed, Frank Patti, Jr. and Alex Pagonis. Honorary pallbearers will be, Frank Patti, Jerry Hicks and Dall Bass.
A committal service will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Busters honor.
