IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Jo
Duff
November 9, 1957 – April 17, 2024
Linda Duff, 66, was called home in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 17, 2024. She was surrounded by her family as she went to her new life.
Linda was born November 9, 1957, in Seattle, WA to Keith "Skip" and Mary Ann Nordahl. In 1976, she met the love of her life, her husband, David. She has lived in many places throughout her short life but called Pensacola home.
Linda studied at Pensacola Junior College where she obtained her dental hygiene degree. She worked as a hygienist for almost 30 years and retired from Pensacola Family Dental Associates. She enjoyed caring for all her patients and spending time with her coworkers and Dr. Jernigan.
Linda was an avid runner for many years, competing in many marathons including the Dublin Marathon in Ireland, the New York City Marathon, The Chicago Marathon, Marine Corp Marathon, the 26.2 with Donna to end breast cancer in Jacksonville as well as the Blue Angel Marathon here in Pensacola. Her love of running introduced her to an amazing group of friends. Though she didn't run anymore, the group kept close, and many continue to walk together every Saturday. This group brought her so much love and friendship.
Linda also had a love of swimming and could be found in lane 4 most mornings at the Pensacola State College pool. She competed in the 2004 bay swim and brought home a 1st place finish in her age group. She also traveled with the Pirate Swim Team to Auburn for many years to compete...always returning another high point trophy. The Pirate Team, much like her walking/running group was a second family full of people she loved and friendships that she would always cherish.
After losing her son, Ryan, in a car accident, Linda joined Compassionate Friends and found joy and peace helping others through their grief. We could certainly all use her talents now. She helped start the bereavement group at St. Paul Catholic Church where she had been a faithful parishioner since moving to Pensacola in 1988.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann; her brother, Jeffery; as well as her son, Ryan, who probably met her at those pearly gates and welcomed her with open arms.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, David; her father, Keith "Skip"; her daughter, Sandy, and her granddaughter, Ansley Kate; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 10:30am until a Funeral Mass begins at 11:00am Saturday, April 27, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Doug Halsema celebrant. A private family graveside will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
