Obituary

Linda Kronholm Harageones was born October 29, 1951, and died on October 25, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt.  She was the daughter of the late Paul Edward and Mercedes Ann Kronholm, and step-daughter of Florence Granath Kronholm, all of Illinois.  Despite growing up outside of Chicago, Linda was a long-term resident of Pensacola.  While working at the Florida Department of Education in Tallahassee, she met Emmanouel "Manny" Harageones. They were married 33 years before his death.

Linda served Florida students, teachers, and administrators for over 37 years as a teacher, teacher-trainer, and educational administrator.  She taught middle school science in several counties in Florida, served as both a specialist and director of the Florida Department of Education, and was an administrator for the Escambia County Public Schools before her retirement.

Although she was best known for her educational workshops and presentations, Linda enjoyed working behind the scenes writing grants and analyzing data, especially for local non-profits. Linda was active in the Pensacola community previously serving on the Board of Directors of the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation, the Choral Society of Pensacola, and the Krewe du YaYas.

Linda was a devoted Florida State football and basketball fan as well as a longtime Seminole Booster.  Even after Manny's passing, she and her sister-in-law, Maria Harageones, continued to cheer on the Seminoles at every home football game.  She loved collecting seashells on Sanibel Island, cruising to exotic destinations with family, and designing floral arrangements.  She had a beautiful voice and sang alto in the Christ Church Parish Choir and the Choral Society of Pensacola for many years.  She was an active member in the Mardi Gras krewe, Les Harlequins.  She loved volunteering for and parading with the Mardi Gras krewe, the Krewe du YaYas.  A trail of pink glitter often followed behind her.

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Smith (Zack); step-children, George and Amanda Harageones (Seth Peterson); her sisters, Laura Eichelberger (David Meyer), and Ann Mitchell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Christ Episcopal Church, 18 W. Wright Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.  The family will celebrate Linda's life at a reception to be held immediately following the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church Parish Choir at (850) 432-5115, the Krewe du YaYas's Keeping Abreast Foundation at http://www.keepingabreastfoundation.org/ , or the Choral Society of Pensacola at 850-484-1806.

The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at VITAS Inpatient Hospice at West Florida Hospital for their loving care in her last few days.
