IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Emmanuel
Kennedy
June 23, 1945 – September 19, 2021
Linda Emmanuel Kennedy, age 76, of Pensacola passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021. Linda was born in Galveston, Texas, to Joseph and Violeta Emmanuel, then became a lifelong resident of Pensacola where she enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up on Bayou Texar and at the family cabin on Innerarity Point. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School, Pensacola Catholic High School, St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans, and Florida State University, where she graduated with a Master's Degree in Speech Pathology. While in college in New Orleans, she was put in touch with a fellow Pensacolaian, Bill Kennedy, for a ride home on Easter weekend. Bill made sure Linda sat in the front seat for the ride then sent her yellow roses the following week. That drive and those flowers began their friendship and marriage of 52 years.
Linda was known to have many admirable attributes, particularly her devotion to the Catholic faith shown through her actions and deeds. Linda was humble, kind, and patient; she gave an abundance of love to so many.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill Kennedy, and her parents, Joseph and Violeta Emmanuel.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three children, Amy Partington (Philip), Megan Kennedy, and Joseph "Joe" Kennedy (Ale); five grandchildren, Mallory Cardillo (Richie), Gavin and Halle Mansfield, and Will and Lizzie Partington; seven siblings, Angela (Sissy) Guillaume, Dr. Donna Emmanuel, Brunie Emmanuel, Teresa Emmanuel, Joanne Emmanuel, Michael Emmanuel (Amy), and Tim Emmanuel; and sister-in-law, Ann Kennedy.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wesley Haven Villa and Linda's caregivers, especially Tricia Callahan Kounds and Kathleen Callahan Loustau, her best friends since 2 nd Grade. Thank you all for your companionship, patience, and love for our mom even in the most challenging times; we will always have a special place in our hearts for you.
