Obituary

Linda "Lily" Ledbetter, 68, of Pensacola, FL was called home by God to enter eternal peace on May 1, 2014 after putting up a courageous fight against her cancer. She was born on December 10, 1945 to James and Iris Allison. Linda lived life with no regrets and passed this philosophy down to her children. Family was everything to her. Her children and grandchildren always felt her unconditional love and support. She lived 25 years as a military spouse and served proudly alongside her husband, Kenneth W. Ledbetter. Linda embraced the military lifestyle and believed home was where you made it. Her tours included Maine, Hawaii, Cuba, Louisiana, and Florida. Throughout her life as a military spouse, she volunteered with various military organizations and served as ombudsman. Linda worked at Warrington Bank for 20 years as the Head Teller and retired in 2010. After retiring, she became active with her women's group and Sunday school group at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Linda was preceded in death by her father, James H. Allison, of Lanett, AL; her mother, Iris L. Allison, of Lanett, AL; sister, Jimmie Ruth McGhee, of Montgomery, AL and brother's Charles and Billy who died in early childhood. Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Kenneth W Ledbetter Sr., who resides in Pensacola, FL; son, Kenneth W (Stacy) Ledbetter Jr., of Pensacola, FL, and her daughter, Allison M (Matt) Lacy, of Honolulu, HI. She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Isabella S. Lacy, Harrison R. Lacy, Hudson A. Lacy, and Kayden G. Ledbetter. Visitation will begin at 2:30pm on Saturday, May 17, 2014 followed by a Memorial Service at 3:00pm at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church.
