Linda Covington Meyer 79, died suddenly January 19, 2018 in her home.

She was born October 24, 1938 in Jonesboro, AR to Albert and Pearl Covington who predeceased her. She attended Jonesboro public schools and graduated from Arkansas State University with a BA in music. She married Carl A. Meyer on June 26, 1960 in Jonesboro. Linda was a long time resident of Pensacola, FL where she taught music and piano lessons. She also had a long career as Deputy Tax Collector for Escambia County Florida. Linda was a member of the Pensacola Opera Society and the Pensacola Choral Society. She belonged to Trinity Presbyterian Church where she was active in many roles, but especially in the church choir.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Carl A. Meyer; her sons, Larry Meyer and Wes Meyer (Merita); grandson, Christopher Meyer; granddaughters, Madison Holmes (Jacob), Mackenzi Meyer, Maysee Meyer; sister, Phyllis Cole-Williams; nephews Jeffrey Cole, Michael Cole (Wendy) and their families.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 am with Dr. Hugh Hamilton officiating. Interment will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Pensacola Choral and Opera Societies, 1000 College Blvd. Pensacola, FL 32504 and the Humane Society, 5 N Q St. Pensacola, FL 32505.
