March 2, 1924 – October 5, 2019
Lois Ann Shipley Easter, age 95, of Pensacola, passed away peacefully at the Haven of Our Lady of Peace, on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Shipley; her sister, Dorothy Lynskey; and her granddaughter, Annie Easter.
Lois was born in Chattanooga, TN on March 2, 1924. She graduated from Notre Dame High School. She married the late Harold Easter, Sr. during World War II. Lois was employed with the Bell Telephone System for 37 years as an engineer. Lois was an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica, volunteered at Memorial Hospital and the Ladies of Charities. She was on the "Senior Neighbors" bus every time they left town. After her retirement she traveled extensively, played bridge and joined the "Dancing Grannies."
Lois moved to Pensacola in 2000 to be near her son and daughter-in-law, Hal & Teena Easter. She was very close to her grandchildren, Annie, Lisa & Jeffrey Swan; and her great-grandchildren, Isabella and Andrew. Lois joined many different groups where she had no trouble making new friends.
Visitation will be held 1:00pm until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 1:30pm Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1212 E. Moreno St., Pensacola, FL 32503, with the Most Reverend Martin D. Holley celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception will follow the committal service at the Cathedral's Ave Maria Hall.
