Lois M. Williams, 94, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017. Lois was born and grew-up in Atlantic, VA. During World War 11, after she graduated from Temperanceville High School, she worked in Philadelphia, PA as "Rosie the Riveter" in the manufacture of aircraft wings. Later she entered Nurse Cadet training for two years. In 1947, she married her husband, Dale, who was in the US Navy. She was a Navy wife for 27 years and they were married for 69 3/4 years.
Lois enjoyed gardening, golfing, flower arranging, sewing, cooking, yoga and taking care of her family and fur babies.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Fleming, mother, Anna May Fleming; a sister, Virginia, brothers, Ames, Russell, Leonard, Orville and Esley.
Lois is survived by her husband, CDR Dale Williams, USN, (ret.) of Pensacola ; a daughter, Amy (James) Bishop of Jackson, MI; a son, Barry Williams of Pensacola; granddaughter, Shannon Williams of New Orleans, LA and a sister, Mary Powell of Spokane, WA.
Private Family services and burial will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Barrancas National Cemetery.
No flowers are requested, and the family extends a huge Thank You to Regency Hospice and the Waterford at Creekside for all the compassion and loving care they showed to Lois and her husband.
