Lorraine R. Pettigrew 82, of Pensacola FL passed away Thursday, July 15th, 2010. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Capt. Raymond A. Pettigrew and their 3 children; Diane C. Marquez, Steven R. Pettigrew and Laurie A. Pettigrew; 3 grandchildren, Natasha Smith, Nicole Pettigrew and Scott Pettigrew; 2 great grandchildren, Kaiya and Taj; sisters, Phyllis, Cecile and Yvonne; and dog Muffy. Ray and Lorraine were married in Worcester MA in 1951 after Ray finished flight training in Pensacola, FL and Corpus Christy, TX. Lorraine was a devoted Naval wife throughout Ray's distinguished career which culminated with his assignment as Chief of Staff to U.S. Naval Forces Caribbean Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. They retired in Pensacola where together they enjoyed a full life with their wonderful community of friends. As an active member of the Pensacola Federation of Garden Clubs, Pensacola Museum of Art Guild and Retired Officer's, Windows Association, and in addition a member of the Pensacola Country Club. Lorraine was always willing to offer her time and her many talents; she was always there for people who were in need. She loved The Arts and she herself had a wonderful talent for design which manifested in all that she did. Lorraine will be best remembered for her love and compassion for people, her boundless energy, and sense of humor. Lorraine will be missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Service will be at St. Joseph's Church on Government St. Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 at 10:00am In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pensacola Museum of Arts Guild, 407 S.
