Obituary

Lorraine Lee Alexander "Lorry" Baroco passed peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, following a full, rewarding and successful life.

Lorry was born on May 31, 1944, in Dallas, TX. She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and Tulane University's Newcomb College. From her co-authored scientific journal articles on groundbreaking cancer treatments during her work at St. Jude Children's Hospital (additionally honoring her special saint), to her introduction of math and computer science to thousands of students (as a teacher at St. Paul's Catholic School for over 25 years), Lorry changed the world she lived in with grace, an incredibly caring heart, a soft hand on the shoulder, and a warm smile.

Lorry was humble in her intelligence and brilliance, but she was flamboyant in her loves, including her genealogy, her little dogs Ginger and Max, her time in Destin, her trips to Disney, her sparkly shirts and jewelry, Mardi Gras, her church, and her TV series' on science and archaeology. But she most wondrously and fiercely loved her family; she was the glue that held her family together. She reveled in seeing the success and happiness of her children, and the smiles on her grandchildren's faces as often as she possibly could. But the smile of Paul, her husband of 57 years, and the touch of his hand, is what always gave her the most joy and calmed her beyond measure.

Her family will forever be filled with gratitude for the beautiful lessons we learned from her, most of all her examples of love. One only needs to witness the closeness and devotion of her children to each other, their true respect and kindness, to realize her crowning achievement as wife and mother.

Her love knew no limits, and her legacy in that love will live within us all. We will cherish every memory, and live our lives in honor of her and that love. And we will see her in every yellow rose, every cardinal, every hummingbird, and especially - as she becomes one - every angel, continuing to watch and protect those that she loved so much.

Survivors include her husband, Paul; her children, Catherine (Kim), Angela (Scott Eddy), Paul Thomas Jr (Dominique) and Cynthia (Paul Perkins); her grandchildren, Maria, Joseph, Paul, Michael, Elizabeth, Thérèse, Michaela and Joshua; as well as her sister, Linda (Joe Reinauer).

Lorry leaves a brilliant legacy both to those who knew her well, and countless others throughout her life.
