IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Louis "Lou"
E. Brizzi
September 20, 1941 – December 25, 2025
Louis "Lou" Eugene Brizzi was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, son, brother, uncle, friend, and entrepreneurial businessman. He passed away peacefully and with dignity at the age of 84 on December 25, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children.
Lou grew up in East Rutherford, NJ, and graduated from East Rutherford High School in 1959. He was part of the 1958 Wildcat Championship football team, an experience that stayed with him for life. For Lou, the game was only part of the story. It taught him commitment, accountability, and integrity that he carried forever.
He was the son of John Brizzi, owner of the Star Produce Market on Paterson Avenue in East Rutherford and the matriarch of their family, Margaret Brizzi, who was also a business owner and held their family together. From his parents' example, Lou cultivated his business savvy and learned the importance of hard work, responsibility, and providing for others.
Professionally, Lou owned and operated several successful businesses in New Jersey and later had a long career in Information Technology, working for large corporations such as Bendix in Teterboro, NJ, Lehn & Fink in Montvale, NJ, and Prudential in Newark, NJ. His professional journey concluded in the IT department of Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, FL at 83 years old.
Lou also coached several championship baseball teams, including his own children's teams, the Foxes and the Falcons, and held his players to high standards, teaching them discipline, effort, and respect.
Alongside his incredible work ethic, Lou had a zest for life and knew how to enjoy it! Throughout the years, he was unwaveringly passionate about his interests and hobbies. They became rituals and traditions in his life, and he loved to share them with friends and family. This enthusiasm was contagious - he made experiences and conversations exciting, whether it was sending his oldest son Jon to Penn State's football camp, attending/watching his beloved New York Yankees at training camp with his favorite daughter Lisa, enjoying chicken savoy at a VIP table at Belmont Tavern with his son Joel, spending a perfect day at Johnson Beach with his love Lynda, finding the most tasty local Italian lemon ice (Clyde's), cutting down his own Christmas tree, playing in a corporate bowling league, collecting baseball cards, or anything else that he thought was "the best".
Above all, Lou was a family man. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Lynda; his children, Jon (Holly), Lisa (Joe), Joel (Jamie), Rob (Hope), Chris (Nisha), Mecheal (Paul), and Lee (Stephanie); his brother, Alfred (Linda); as well as his 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. His dedication to family is clear, as all of his children embody Lou's character and drive.
Lou's love, spirit, and quiet but powerful influence will endure through all who loved him.
