Lt Col John J. (Jack) Moran, Jr. USAF (ret), 82 of Pensacola passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013. Jack was born in New York City, NY on August 9, 1930 to Annie E (Books) and John Joseph Moran, Sr. He served his country in the US Air Force retiring in 1974 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Jack was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed singing and sailing. He was a member of the Belles and Beaux in Pensacola and a previous Commodore of the Halifax River Yacht Club in Daytona Beach, FL. His parents and loving wife of 54 years Betty Moran preceded Jack in death. He is survived by his children, CAPT Melinda Moran of Pensacola and Kevin Moran (Marjorie) of Savannah, GA; granddaughter, Dr. Clara Moran of Athens, GA. Visitation will be 8:30am until the Funeral Mass at 9:30am Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart with Msgr. Michael V. Reed. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions, may be made to the Alzheimer's Family Services, 1901 N.
