Lt. Joseph John Newhouse, 61, of Pensacola, FL passed away on July 15, 2011 in his home. "Joe" was born on November 4, 1949, in Escanaba, MI. He left his hometown shortly after graduating from Holy Name High School in 1967 to enlist in the U.S. Navy. He served over 22 years active duty and earned his commission in 1981. He retired from the U.S. Navy and continued his profession of surgical nursing for many years. Besides being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was an RN, a business owner, an active member of his community, and was a lifelong learner - earning several degrees. His highest degree earned was an MBA in Business Administration with a specialization in Hospital Administration from Webster University in 1984. He is preceded in death by his father, Elfridge Newhouse, and mother, Madeline Newhouse. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynn Newhouse; his children, Deanna Newhouse, Cynthia Newhouse Bacheller (Tampa, FL) and Steven Newhouse. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mike Ryan, Jr. (U.S. Army), Taylor Stafford, Madison Bacheller and Brienna Bacheller. Visitation will be held 9:30am until the Funeral Service at 10:30am Friday, July 22, 2011 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A military burial will follow at 11:45am at Barrancas National Cemetery.
