Lucile Carson Colley, 96, of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013. Mrs. Colley was born September 23, 1916 in Century, FL. Although she had only a few years of formal education she had a great deal of common sense and intuition. She always knew how to handle a difficult situation. Mrs. Colley never gave up hope no matter what the circumstances. Her cooking was outstanding and will be remembered with much delight by all who had the opportunity to sit at her table. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing. She loved fishing with her husband and found peace during those times. She was a person with sound integrity, evident in her words and actions. She courageously fought a difficult battle with her health problems and lived a long life of 96 years. She is at peace now resting in God's care. Mrs. Colley was preceded in death by her husband, Glenville Colley; parents, Thomas and Ella Carson and five sisters and a brother. Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Bencker of Pensacola; nieces, Brenda McLaughlin and Carolyn Holt of San Diego, CA; nephew, Ronald Faggioni of Pensacola. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:15am Friday, September 20, 2013 at Barrancas National Cemetery with Rev. Nancy Watson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 333 Commerce St., Pensacola, FL 32507.
