IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lunette Campbell
Sacks
July 6, 1935 – December 28, 2023
Lunette "Lynn" Campbell Sacks, 88, passed peacefully from this life into the arms of Jesus, Thursday, December 28, 2023.
Lunette was born on July 6, 1935, in Pensacola, FL to Willie Carol Campbell and William Joseph Campbell. She grew up in Seville Historic District near the shore and oyster beds. She attended Catholic school as a young child, and asked Jesus into her heart when she was 14 years old. Lunette developed a love for writing during those formative years. Later, after graduating from Pensacola High School, she went on to write poetry as a hobby, along with occasional featured articles for various Newspapers.
While still in Pensacola, Lunette met, fell in love, and married a Naval Cadet, Donald Wesley Terrell, who retired as a Delta Airline Captain after 36 years. Early in Lunette and Don's marriage, they started a family. If asked, her greatest accomplishment and joy was raising four daughters.
Lunette and Don's marriage was not forever, and they both went on to remarry, but they stayed in touch the rest of their lives. After returning to Pensacola, and many years later, Lunette went on to marry Dr. Ellsworth "EJ" Sacks. Together, Lunette and EJ traveled extensively, and when home, they were active members of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. While EJ was a great love of our mother's, her second love was the sea. She spent time at the beach throughout her entire life.
Lunette will be deeply missed for her smile, tenacity, courage, love and faith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ellsworth John Sacks; her daughter, Diana Lynn McGuffie; and her parents, Willie Carol Campbell and William Joseph Campbell who proudly worked for Pensacola Police Department.
Lunette is survived by her children, Cindy Walsh (Bill), Sharon Terrell, Darien Terrell, and Angie Mahurin; six grandchildren, Megan Terrell (John), Lauren Ellington (Joe), Philip Walsh, Brent Walsh (Aisha), Blair McGuffie, and Daniel Ryan McGuffie (Natalie); six great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; as well as two special young men that Lynn loved, Daniel Terrell and Adrian Terrell; and by EJ's children, Eric Sacks (Rose), Dana Thomas (Mike), Trisha Sickert (Mark), and Ellsworth III "Skip" Sacks; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and their beloved dog, Sam.
Visitation will be held 9:30am until a Funeral Service begins at 10:00am Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd., Pensacola, FL 32504, with Chaplain Megan Hensley officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Parkinson's Foundation or the Dementia Society of America.
The family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers through the years, especially Trisha Melton, the Summer Vista Staff, Gentiva Hospice and Susie Jefferies.
