IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Madelaine Landis
Power
March 1, 1945 – July 19, 2022
Madelaine Landis Power, 77, Pace, FL passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
Madelaine was born on March 1, 1945, in Lynch, KY. Her parents moved to Nashville that same year. She graduated from Madison High School in 1963. After graduation, she went to work for 3M in New York City and became their top salesperson in Manhattan. She was "The Girl in Blue" in TV ads promoting 3M's first color copier. She then joined Eastern Airlines where she was voted flight attendant of the year, worldwide for all carriers. That success led to her being named Eastern's Director of Community Relations. She was the only woman to sit in on Eastern Board Meetings. She had a corner office in the Rockefeller Center overlooking St. Patrick's Cathedral. As exciting as all that was, those experiences were dwarfed when she moved back to Nashville, married Dan and began to raise a family and mother her two fine boys. They quickly became her pride and joy. Madelaine was always a lady and very Chanel. Wherever her family moved, she made a beautiful home. She loved her garden. Her unexpected death leaves a hole in the hearts of her family and friends. She left us strong. We will forever miss her and continue along the course she set for us.
Madelaine is preceded in death by her parents, William Howard Landis and Helen Tomlinson Landis.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Edward Power; sons, Daniel Edward Power, IV and Andrew Landis Power; as well as her brother, George Phillip Landis.
A Memorial Service will be held 10:00am Friday, July 29, 2022, at Christ Episcopal Church with Dr. Michael Hoffman officiating.
