Madge Holley Powell, 88, of Pensacola, FL passed away Thursday, February 14, 2024.
Madge was born on January 25, 1936, in Covington County, AL to Tamar (Alpin) and Will A. Holley. A resident of Pensacola since 1967, she retired as a Dental Hygienist and a Medical Office Manager.
Madge was a member of Heights Baptist Church and the Gleaners Sunday School Class since the 1960's. In the Outreach Ministry Department, she made beautiful computer-generated cards for her class and other. She loved attending church and Sunday school, church activities, and the fellowship with Christian friends. She loved singing in the choir as long as her health permitted. Madge was an excellent Divinity Candy maker and enjoyed sharing it with others. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Florida Chapter # 9, and a member of Sassafras group of the Pensacola Federation Garden Club.
Madge is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, George Powell, Jr., two sisters, and two brothers.
She is survived by her loving son, Paul G. Powell (Shyla); grandson, Liam Powell; brother, Stacy E. Holley, and Marie; several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
A funeral cortege will depart Harper-Morris Memorial at 9:30am Thursday, February 15, 2024, for Barrancas National Cemetery, for a Graveside Service at 10:00am. Rev. Jim Duck and Rev. Brian Nott will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heights Baptist Church, 600 Pickens Ave., Pensacola, FL 32503 or to Covenant Care, 5041 N. 12th Ave., Pensacola, FL 32504.
