Obituary

Mansur K. "Steve" Stevens, Jr., 88, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017. Mansur was born August 1, 1928 in Peterborough, NH to Mansur K. and Eva Stevens. He attended Keene State Teachers College, Keene, NH.

Mansur began his Military Service in 1950 stationed in Pensacola, FL, where he met and married the love of his life, Deleen Buffington, August 2, 1952. Mansur achieved 28 years of commissioned military service in the Army Reserves as he worked with Gulf Power Company, where he retired after 38 years in 1992 as Supervisor of the System Control Department.

Mansur attended and was very active at Gadsden Street United Methodist Church, where he served on numerous committees, Men's Club and chaired the Finance Committee for many years.

He loved the Lord, his family, reading, especially History and Presidential Biographies, Golf and traveling to visit family up the East Coast.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deleen Stevens; his parents; a sister, Harriett Hannigan; as well as brothers-in-law, Thomas Hannigan, Al Rozzi and Harry Larsen and a sister-in-law, Nancy Stevens.

He is survived by daughters, Mary Jo Stevens of Pensacola and Barbara Stevens Fobes (Michael) of Mobile, AL; son, Edward M. Stevens, Sr. (Cynthia) of Pensacola; 3 grandchildren, Jason Sullivan, Edward M. Stevens Jr. and Andrew Stevens all of Pensacola; one great-granddaughter, Tory Sullivan; sisters, Barbara Larsen, Carolyn Rozzi and Betty Stevens all of NH; brothers, Charles Stevens (Mel) of CO, Thomas Stevens of NH and John Stevens (Joyce) of MA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 5-7 pm Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 am Friday, May 5, 2017 at Gadsden Street United Methodist Church with Rev. David Morris officiating. Burial follows at Barrancas National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, and Frank Lovett.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
