Marica Ann Edwards, 78, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Wednesday July 9, 2025, peacefully with her loving family by her side. Marcia was born in Washington, D.C. on October 26, 1946, to Woodrow "Woody" and Maxine (Hale) Edwards.

She is a graduate of Escambia High School, Class of 1964. She attended Florida State University School of Education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1968. Later, she earned a Master of Arts from Central Michigan University in 1979 and a Master of Science in International Relations from Troy State University 1993.

Marcia spent most of her teaching career with the DoDDS program (Department of Defense Dependent Schools) teaching the dependent children of military personnel stationed at bases overseas. Her primary countries were Germany, which she loved, and Japan. She later received a Certificate of Recognition for 30 years of Service to the United States Government. She eventually came back to Pensacola to retire. She still maintained contact with her friends and attended many of the DoDDS reunions. She continued to travel. She is a longstanding member of Christ Church in Pensacola. She touched the hearts of many; shared her smile readily and always willing to help. She will be greatly missed by all who know her. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00am Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Christ Church, 18 W. Wright St. Pensacola, FL 32501, with Reverend Katie Gillett officiating.
