Marco John White, III, of Gulf Breeze, FL., passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.
Marco was born in Tallahassee, FL on June 15, 1936 to Marco White, Jr and Alice Franklin. Marco graduated from Catholic High School in 1954 and joined the United States Army in 1958. He was stationed at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico as a Military Policeman.
Marco joined the Escambia County Sheriff's Office 1962. He was a founding member of Escambia County's Narcotics Unit, where he was shot in the line of duty. As a career law enforcement officer, he reached the rank of Chief Deputy under Sheriff Jim Lowman. Marco retired in 2001.
Marco was preceded in death by his parents, Marco and Alice White and sister, Sandra White Hurley.
Marco is survived by Virginia, his wife of 59 years; sister, Marie Behnke (John); daughters Ann Ward (Troy) and Kimberly Dobhan (Richard) and his grandchildren Savanna Ward, Conner Ward, Rook Ward, Nicholas Dobhan, Zachary Dobhan and Mackenzie Dobhan.
Rosary will be held at 5:00pm followed by visitation until 7:00pm on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel in Pensacola, FL. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze, FL with Fr. John Cayer officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Frank Hurley, Jr, Jacques Millette, Zachary Dobhan, Nicholas Dobhan, Conner Ward, and Rook Ward.
