Margaret "Margie" Lavinia Mielczarski, 74, of Pensacola passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her home after a struggle with Parkinson's disease. Margie was born in Miami, FL on March 22, 1940. She graduated from Miami Edison Sr. High School in 1958. She went on to earn a degree in Business from Florida State University, graduating in 1962. Margie made her career first as a teacher, and then as a Marine Corps wife and mother, making a home for her family in several states. In addition to raising three children, Margie worked as a secretary at Woodham High School for over a decade. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pensacola, the Marine Officers' Wives' Club of Washington, D.C. and an active volunteer for her children's schools. She enjoyed shopping, sewing and cooking. Family and friends were Margie's passion and delight. She brightened every room that she entered. Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Sybil Spradley and her brother, Roy Spradley. Margie is survived by her husband of fifty years, Anthony F. Mielczarski, Jr.; son, Anthony F. Mielczarski, III and his wife Mollie; son, Michael Mielczarski; daughter, Katherine Fiske and husband Jon; and her grandchildren, Anthony Ward, Charles Mielczarski, Caroline Fiske and Andrew Fiske. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Dr. Barry Howard will be officiating. Interment will follow at 11:45am at Barrancas National Cemetery.
