Margaret "Maggie" Marie Frank passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the age of 68 in Pensacola, FL. Maggie was born September 3, 1948 in Bellingham, WA to Marvin and Marian Burger. She graduated from Bellingham High School in 1966 and entered Western Washington State College on a scholarship. She majored in art and education and graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. In 1969 she married Lawrence "Larry" Frank, also a student at Western.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry; her brother, Douglas Marvin Burger (wife Jamie) of Olympia, WA and her sister, Julie Ann VanderPloeg (husband David) of Springfield, OR and her wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was an exceptionally devoted wife whose support helped her husband in his professional careers. After living in several cities as a function of her husband's naval and civilian careers, they moved permanently to Pensacola, FL in 2010.

Maggie had many artistic interests such as weaving, basketry, jewelry and interior design; but her forte was as a fiber artist. She enjoyed selecting various raw fibers then processing and hand spinning them. Maggie used her spun fibers in her own designs for sweaters, shawls and other items she knitted and received award-winning recognition for her artistic work.

Maggie had a very sweet and empathic personality and a great sense of humor. She was a gentle soul who cared deeply about family and friends and had a special place in her heart for animals. Maggie is greatly missed.

Per her wishes, there will not be a formal service.
