"Peggie" Brown
February 28, 1930 – March 25, 2018
Margaret Elizabeth "Peggie" Brown, 88, of Pensacola, FL passed away on Palm Sunday, March 25, 2018. She is now with her beloved husband, Leo Brown.
Peggie was born to Olive and Lester Weaver on 28 Feb 1930 in Gulfport, MS. In those early years she lived in Gulfport, MS, LaGrange, GA and Jackson, MS where she met the love of her life Leo Brown.
Peggie attended "Ole Miss" and in 1950 accepted employment as a Stewardess with Chicago and Southern based in Memphis, TN. Flying in the Douglas DC 3 and Lockheed Constellation, she aviated throughout the Mid-West, South East and Caribbean.
Peggie and Leo married in November 1952 and started the semi-normal lifestyle of a Navy family, living on the West and East Coast, Hawaii, Panama, Japan, Taiwan before settling down to Pensacola in 1976. Raising two inquisitive and rambunctious boys, Peggie excelled in the kitchen and was an accomplished seamstress, upholsterer and thoroughly enjoyed antique hunting junkets as a savvy collector. She was an inventive and tasteful decorator displaying the antiques she discovered in her overseas travels.
Peggie is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Brown.
She is survived by her sons, Gideon and Mark Brown and grandchildren, Elizabeth, James and Christopher Brown.
A Funeral Cortege will leave Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel at 12:15pm Friday, April 6, 2018 for a Graveside Service at 1:00pm at Barrancas National Cemetery.
