Dr. Margaret A. Sielski, 87, passed away in her home on Sunday, May 6, 2018. She was surrounded by loving family and compassionate staff.

Margaret was born in Athens, TN on December 27, 1930 to Jack Anderson and Helen Orr. She loved to learn and to teach, ultimately earning her Doctorate of Education from Troy University. She was President of the Teacher's Union at PJC from 1988-1989. She taught many students over the course of her 30-year career and retired from Pensacola Junior College. Margaret deeply cared about her students and strived to have a positive influence in their lives.

As a daughter and granddaughter of Methodist ministers, Margaret has been a lifelong member of the Methodist church. She enjoyed being a part of the Bookworms, and supported many youth activities throughout the years. Margaret was also an avid gardener, loved to watch birds and had a passion for nature and art.

Margaret is preceded in death by her first husband, James L. Graham, Jr.; her second husband, Lester M. Sielski; her parents, Helen and Jack Anderson and her brother, Bays Anderson.

She is survived by her sister, Caroline Barthelmess of Tallahassee; her daughter, Priscilla Phipps (James) and her granddaughter, Rebecca Phipps of Pensacola.

The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice, Dr. J. Salvaggio, and Jameelah Shabazz from CareStaff for her years of service and friendship.

Visitation will be 5-7pm Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be 11:30am Friday, May 11, 2018 at First United Methodist Church Pensacola, with Dr. Rick Branch officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
