Obituary

Marianne Van Lunstrum, 86, passed peacefully at her daughter's home in Fort Payne, AL on July 19, 2015. Marianne was born Mary Ann Evkovic, on May 13, 1929 to parents Minnie Barnum and John Evkovic, and six months later was orphaned thru death of her mother. She was chosen by Mary and Glenn Churchill who raised her as their own daughter in Terre Haute, IN. She graduated from Wiley High School in 1945, attended Nursing School where she met and fell in love with her only true love Ronald Earl "Bud" Lunstrum. They were married May 29, 1949 and built a life that spanned 60 years. They raised four children. Marianne was a talented musician, playing piano, keyboard and electric guitar. She was a seamstress, and a great homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Live Oak, FL. She sang and competed in the Live Oak Women's Club Choir. She traveled to Split Croatia, when she was 70 years old and met her family for the first time. She loved her Croatian family very much, and even taught herself to speak the difficult language. She loved her husband, her children, her home and her animals dearly. Her beloved dog Mickey never left her side. She looked forward to the day she would meet her parents in Heaven. Marianne is survived by William "Bill" Lunstrum, of WV, Kurt Lunstrum, of Thailand, Kristie Lunstrum Fagan, of FL and Jenna Sue Payne, of AL. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and her faithful Jack Russell Terrier "Mickey".
