Marie Spence Sharrett, 87, passed away peacefully Friday, March 7, 2014. She was born in Ewa, Oahu, Hawaii on October 29, 1926 to the late George Spence and Eulalia Cordeiro. Marie was an active parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Pensacola, FL for over 50 years. She was a member of the Altar Society and enjoyed extensive travel, spending time with family, sewing, gardening and swimming. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Taylor Sharrett. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Judkins; children, Lydia Brossett (James), Hal Sharrett (Marilyn), Wayne Sharrett (Charlotte) and Leigh Gorman (Richard); ten grandchildren, Renee, Casey, Joe, Zachary (Monica), Leilani, Kainani, Matthew, Cole, Kyle and Nicole; four great-grandchildren, Devan, Mikayla (Renee), Vita and Colt (Zachary). Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Tuesday, March 11, 2014 with a Rosary prayed at 5pm at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at St. Anne's Catholic Church (Bellview) with Fr. James Thoyalil celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. We wish to thank the Consulate Health Care staff for the loving and excellent care they provided Marie the past few years. She will be sorely missed!
