Obituary

Marilyn A. Turnipseed, 99, of Pensacola, FL passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024.

Marilyn was born in Rome, NY to Mary J. and Joseph Schrenker. She dedicated her life to her family, her church, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to her friends. She was a self-taught seamstress, knitter, and crocheter and did all of them with great perfection. Marilyn loved to sing and belonged to Barbershop Chorus (Sweet Adelines), church choirs and took parts in musical shows. She was a volunteer at the Naval Air Museum and the Red Cross at the Naval Hospital for over 20 years. To travel was a must on her list of "things to do" and travel she did…by land, by sea, and by air!! To say the very least, Marilyn loved the life given to her and lived it to the fullest!! Her life ended peacefully with her family by her side. She will be missed but the memories will forever live in our hearts! A toast of wine and chips to Marilyn!!

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Col. Felix M. Turnipseed, USAF (Ret.); son, Michael J. Grogan; granddaughter, Danielle Johnson Knippers; brothers, Richard, James, and Paul Schrenker; as well as her sister, Carol Connor.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Beth Johnson (Ron); son, Patrick Grogan; granddaughters, Michelle Hirsch (Jeff), Shawn Savory (Jeff), Kelly Creed; grandson, Keith Johnson; 9 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; sister, JoAnne Lenio (Joe); brother, Robert Schrenker (Joyce) and several nieces and nephews.
