Obituary

Marion Thibodeaux Clement, 96, peacefully went to her eternal home on October 29, 2020, in Tampa, FL.

She was born January 16, 1924, in New Orleans, LA. She married her beloved husband of 60 years in 1943, and they spent most of their married life in Pensacola, FL. They built a home in 1953 and lived in it until she moved to Tampa, FL, in 2004 to be near some of her children. They were charter and active members of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Warrington, FL. She was a member of the altar society, the church bowling league and helped out with events at the school when her children attended St. Thomas More parochial school. She also spent many years as a volunteer "pink lady" at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was an excellent seamstress, making clothes for her children and grandchildren. She was always impeccably dressed and was an immaculate housekeeper and a wonderful cook. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter and great-niece. She was the center of the family and family was her life.

She was always a calming influence. One of her best pieces of advice was to not worry about what might happen, as it is usually not what actually ends up happening. And she was right. In her later years she enjoyed going to casinos to play the slots. She also liked to work her crossword puzzles and read her People magazines, especially if the royal family was on the cover. She was a lifelong fan of the New Orleans Saints and watched and rooted for them faithfully.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Clement, Jr. and her parents, Ruth Thibodeaux and Edwin Thibodeaux.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Davis (Dickey); son, E.J. Clement (Renee); daughter, Nancy Simet (Ira) and daughter, Lorna Saladino (Wayne). She also had 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:00am Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1212 E. Monroe St., Pensacola, FL, with interment following at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, 1300 E. Hayes St.
