Obituary

Marissa G. Falzone, 50, was called home on February 24, 2013 and on that day heaven received a beautiful angel. She put up the most courageous fight against cancer over the last two plus years. Marissa is not only our hero, but she was an amazing daughter, mother, nana, sister, and friend. We were all blessed by her. Marissa was born and raised in Pensacola and remained here through the majority of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends the most! Marissa adored her grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible; they were her sunshine. She was an avid Alabama Football fan and was heard often saying "Roll Tide". Marissa loved being out in the sun and doing things outdoors. She spent a lot of time in her life lying on the beach. Marissa was a fun loving person, always full of energy and life. Her zest for life was infectious, and she always was laughing and having a good time. Marissa could light up a room with her presence and had a gift for making anyone smile or laugh. She worked at Target for twelve years and very much enjoyed her job. Marissa is preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Olive Frickie as well as Harry and Lewisteene Harris. She is survived by her parents, Alvin and Patricia Harris; former husband and dear friend, Ray Falzone; children, Anna (Brandon) Ware, Anthony Falzone and Alex Falzone; grandchildren, Hunter, Brayden and Lakelyn; siblings, Alvin (Jeanne) Harris Jr., Brenda (Eddie) Jackson, Joni Martin (John Flaningam), Michele (Darrell) Carrier and Ryan Harris; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Tuesday, Febuary 26, 2013 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A private family mass and burial will be held. Pallbearers will be, Ray Falzone, Anthony Falzone, Brandon Ware, Alvin Harris Jr., Ryan Harris and Eddie Jackson. Flower arrangements will be accepted, or in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made to the National Cancer Society, Covenant Hospice or St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church. A very special thank you to Dr. Sunnenberg of Sacred Heart Oncology, the great staff at Covenant Hospice Joyce Goldenberg Facility and Rev. Fr. Hector R.G. Perez, STD for the wonderful care that was provided for our mother.
