Demouy, Sr.
August 16, 1951 – May 7, 2022
On May 7, 2022, Mark William DeMouy passed away at age of 70. He was born August 16, 1951, to William and Pat DeMouy in Mobile, AL but traveled the world as a child living in Aruba, London, Mobile, and Okinawa, due to his father being an engineer with Esso Corp (Exxon), which molded him at a young age into a man who didn't shy away from experiences and challenges. Mark graduated from McGill-Toolen High School in 1969. While working at Mobile's Marion Corporation, Mark graduated from the University of South Alabama in 1985, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Upon completion of university Mark moved to Palatka, FL accepting a leadership position with pulp & paper company Georgia-Pacific. Mark would stay on with GP and in Palatka the rest of his career, retiring as the Superintendent of Maintenance and Tissue Convertering at age 55. He was an avid acoustic guitar player, tennis player, fisherman, scuba diver, golfer and Auburn Tigers football fan. For the past 10 years, Mark resided in Perdido Key, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joan C. DeMouy; three children, Tricia DeMouy O'Neill (Hugh), Mark William DeMouy, Jr. (Sandy), Adam Wesley DeMouy (Kesia); four grandchildren, Tyler Craig (Caitlin), Emma O'Neill, Madelyn DeMouy, Caroline DeMouy, and great granddaughter Amelia Craig. Mark is also survived by siblings Cheryl Tucker, A. F. Gus DeMouy (Eve), Gloria Robinson, and James DeMouy (Donna).
Visitation will be 10:00 am until the Memorial Service at 11:00am Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd. Pensacola, FL 32504, with Fr. Craig Smith, officiating.
