Mark Modica made his last delivery on March 18, 2016.
He was born the fourth son of Edward S. and Margaret Nees Modica at Fort Carson, Co. Mark traveled the breath of the World as a US Air Force dependent. Six months after his birth the family departed the United States for Britain. He lived at RAF Bentwaters in East Anglia for the next three years. The family was next stationed at Eglin AFB, Florida. Following assignments to Scott AFB, IL, Melbourne, Australia and McGuire AFB, NJ, the family finally returned to Fort Walton for good. Mark would call the Panhandle home for the next 40 years. He graduated from Fort Walton Beach High School and attended college at North Florida State College. He began his life long career in the food industry as a department manager at the Fort Walton Delchamps Grocery Store and owned a Flowers Bakery delivery franchise for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael W. Modica.
He is survived by brothers; Edward S. Modica, Jr. of Mary Esther, FL, Robert M. Modica of Pascagoula, MS, Stephen F. Modica of Canton, GA, Matthew J. Modica of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and one sister, Elizabeth S. Modica-Hensley of Acworth, GA.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sacred Heart Hospital of Pensacola for the professional and compassionate care during Mark's illness.
A Celebration of life will be held at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel on Airport Road, Pensacola, FL on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 2 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the American Heart Association or any organization of your choice dedicated to the cessation of smoking.
