IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marshall Blaise
Adams
July 26, 1959 – March 15, 2017
Marshall Blaise Adams Sr. passed away on March 15, 2017. Blaise was the beloved husband of Patrice Adams and father of Childers Adams, Libby Adams, and the late Marshall Adams Jr. Blaise was born on July 26, 1959 in Macon, GA to Aurelia Bond Adams and Robert Jackson Adams. He grew up in Macon, GA where he was a graduate of Mt. De Sales Academy. Blaise attended the University of Georgia and was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He graduated from Georgia College in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in business management. After college, Blaise moved to Pensacola to start a career in banking that lasted 32 years. His most recent position was as Market President of Centennial Bank in Pensacola. As a testament to his commitment to growing the bank, Blaise achieved a prestigious honor in April of 2016 at the bank's annual stockholders meeting becoming a Chairman's Award winner; chosen based on his efforts, accomplishments and success experienced in the short period of time he had been in that role. He was very active in the community he called home and will leave a lasting impression on the many people and organizations he served in Pensacola. He served as Vice-Chair of Economic Development for the Pensacola Area Chamber of Commerce and as Chairman of the Chamber in 2010. Blaise also served as Chair of the Downtown Improvement Board, as Chair of Sacred Heart Foundation and as President of Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida. He served as a Board member of the Sacred Heart Foundation, the Finance Committee of the Archdiocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee and the Pensacola-Escambia Development Commission and the UWF Historic Trust. Blaise was also a member of the Studer Community Institute Board of Directors and was committee chair of the Business Development Committee. He truly valued the business community and developing leaders. He was a great mentor to the Institute staff and a driving force for helping small businesses succeed. Adams was also a member of the Rotary Club of Pensacola and Pensacola Country Club.
Blaise was a great example of dedication and compassion to the many lives he touched while here on Earth. He enjoyed sports and the outdoors during his time away from work. Above all else, Blaise enjoyed time spent with his family. His three children and his wife, Patrice, were the center of his life. It was rare to have a conversation where they were not mentioned by him. Blaise was a good friend to many, a loving father to his children, an adoring husband to his wife and devoted to his Lord, Jesus Christ. He was a true blessing to those who knew him.
Blaise is preceded in death by his father, Robert; sister, Marianne Hill; and son Marshall Jr.
He leaves behind his wife of 31 years, Patrice Scarritt Adams; son, Childers Adams; and daughter, Libby Adams all of Pensacola. Blaise is also survived by his mother, Aurelia Adams; brothers, Bob and Billy Adams; sister, Ellen Chenault; and many extended family members.
