Martha T. Cole, 78, of Pensacola, FL, died peacefully on Monday, June 21, 2021, after a brief illness.
She was born in Bessemer, AL, to the late Wallace T. and Altie Edmonds Tingle. She was raised in Bessemer where she attended school and met the love of her life, Bill, and was happily married for almost 60 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Buddy Tingle; and sister, Nellie Orange.
Martha is survived by her husband, William D. "Bill" Cole; one son, Barry Cole (Laura), daughters, Kim Nelson (Gary) and Angel Whyner (Donald), grandsons, Garrick Nelson, Cole Nelson, Conner Cole, Harrison Cole and Wyatt Whyner, and one granddaughter, Logan Trawick (Taylor). Martha is also survived by her sisters, Ruth Vaught, Shelba Trimm, and twin-sister, Mary Flurry (Leburn).
Martha led an adventurous life having lived in seven different Gulf Coast states. Martha enjoyed the beach, her sports cars, fashion, traveling and especially loved making her famous Chex party mix. Martha loved her family dearly and enjoyed making memories with them at every opportunity.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Friday, June 25, 2021, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 1:00pm Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Dr. Ted Traylor officiating. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be Barry Cole, Donald Whyner, Harrison Cole, Wyatt Whyner, Gary Nelson and Taylor Trawick.
The family would like to extend a special word of "thanks" to the doctors, nurses and staff at Sacred Heart Hospital and Covenant Hospice in Pensacola for their exceptional care and compassion.
