Martha Cosette Arbona Pfeiffer, 82 of Pensacola, FL, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 surrounded by her family.
Martha was born on October 26, 1938 in Pensacola, FL. She was the daughter of Trudy Cosette Arbona and Joseph Augustus Arbona of Pensacola, FL. She was a 1957 graduate of Pensacola High School, and earned her degree in Nursing from Pensacola Junior College. She married Charles F. Knapp in 1964. She was united in Marriage to Philip A. Pfeiffer of Pensacola on April 25, 1987. She spent a lifetime caring for people at various hospitals and health departments. She retired from the Escambia County Health Department. Martha was an ardent lover of history and was a member of the Pensacola Historical Society, Past President and Registrar of the Pensacola Chapter 298 and Florida Division Registrar of United Daughters of the Confederacy, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Martha also spent many hours in community service volunteering at Manna Food Bank and volunteered to work the polls during elections. Martha loved to square dance and was a member of the Pensacola Twirlers. Martha was a devoted Catholic and member of the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel.
Martha Pfeiffer is survived by her loving husband, Philip Pfeiffer of Pensacola; her children, daughter, Charlotte Cosette Knapp Wenzel of Waverly Hall GA; sons, John William Knapp (Adrienne Knapp) of Dothan AL; daughter, Ann Martha Knapp Riley of Columbus, Ga; son, Charles Francis Knapp II (Lorrie Knapp) of Pensacola, FL. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Jessica Knapp Peterson of Murfreesboro, TN, Erin Wenzel of Columbus, GA, Jennifer Riley of Fortson, GA, Tyler Knapp of Antioch, TN, Dale Riley of Atlanta, GA, Lindsay Knapp of Pensacola, FL, Elizabeth Wenzel of Waverly Hall, GA and Andrew Knapp of Pensacola, FL.
The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm followed by a visitation until 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held 9:30 am Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel with Fr. Joseph Callipare celebrant. Martha will be buried in Holy Cross Cemetery.
