Marvin Kenneth Bastion, age 83, went to join the Angels in Heaven on Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Dixie Curran Bastion; his parents, George William and Mildred Pearl Bastion along with a sister, Mildred Mae Grindstaff. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hearin Bastion of 27 years and sister, Shirley Norris of Carthage, MO along with daughters, Crystal Bastion Davis (Ray) of Pensacola, Connie Bastion McCants (Chuck) of Pensacola and a son, Scott Bastion (Lyndsey) of Covington, LA; his 10 grandchildren, Tori Rayann Davis, Christina Curran, Chloe' Lucille, Charles Christian McCants, all of Pensacola, Jessica Gabrielle, Madison, Hunter, John Ryan and Scotlyn Bastion of Covington, LA and a step-son, Scott Thompson (Ninette) of Pensacola. He was loved by all and will greatly missed by his family and his many friends. He served in the United States Army after which he started his career with Grace Chemicals until moving his family to Pensacola, FL in 1967. He continued his career with Air Products, retired, but continued on with West Lake where he finally retired for good. He was an avid baseball player and played from a little boy up into the minor leagues. He continued his love for the sport by coaching many local leagues that his son played in. He was known as the "Pitchers Coach". Until the time of his illness he and Dorothy enjoyed traveling all over. He had a big heart for all animals but especially cats, he and his wife were known for feeding many stray dogs and cats here in Pensacola. He had his favorites at home, Smoky and Rabbit which will miss him as well. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in his honor to the Humane Society of Pensacola or the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida. The family will be having a private Memorial in his honor.
