Obituary

Mary Lynn Allen, 43, of Milton, FL passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2010 after a valiant and courageous battle with Metastatic Melanoma. Mary Lynn Anderson was born on August 19, 1966 in Oxford, MS to Dr. Robert and Mary Lou Anderson. When she was a year old, the family relocated to Pensacola, FL when her dad left Ole Miss and accepted a position with UWF. She attended Pensacola Christian Academy, Ferry Pass Middle and was a 1984 graduate of Woodham High. There she had been a proud member of the marching band. She continued her education at the University of West Florida where she graduated in 1987 with a B.A. in English. After graduation Lynn worked for local attorney Ted Troxel as a legal secretary until she started her career with State Probation and Parole. She completed twenty years of dedicated service as an Officer, Senior Officer, and Supervisor working even the day before being hospitalized. Lynn also had the hardest job in the Army, being a wife to a soldier. Lynn was happiest spending time with her family, friends and her Boston Terriers at home. She loved her Bunco group nights, country music and supporting FSU football. She was a devoted and loving wife, an outstanding mother and daughter always putting her family first. She was a loyal friend to many and an inspiration to us all. She exemplified what a person should be on this earth always leading by example. Lynn was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mary Lou Anderson. She is survived by her devoted and forever loving husband, William D. Allen, Jr. of Milton, FL; her three cherished daughters, Heather, Lindsay, and Lauren; step children, Jacob and Kayla and her loving father, Dr. Robert Anderson. Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 12:30pm Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel with Rev.
