Mary Louise Brayton, "Mary Lou", age of 80, passed away August 26, 2015 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Mary Lou was born September 12, 1934 in Hershey, PA and grew up in State College, PA. She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Recreational Therapy. While working at Central Hospital in Indianapolis, IN she met her husband John R. Brayton, Jr. They soon married and John joined the Navy as a Flight Surgeon. After several duty stations, they chose Pensacola to raise their four children. Mary Lou was an active volunteer in the community and always helped where she was needed. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dr. John R. Brayton, Jr. of 43 years. She is survived by her brother, Dr. David Rank of Aptos, CA; her children; Deborah (Ephraim) of Oro Valley, AZ, John (Barb) of Crystal Lake, IL, Michael of Gulf Breeze, FL and Brian (Renee) of Pace, FL; twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. The family will have a private service at Bayview Memorial Park and have entrusted arrangements with Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel. The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice and The Blake for all the loving care that was given to their Mom during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary Lou's memory to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer Foundation or Emerald Coast Hospice.
