Mary Guttmann Cleveland, 89, of Pensacola, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, June 14, 2021.
Mary was born on March 15, 1932 in Pensacola, FL to Abella Bowes & Louis Brent Guttman. She graduated from Pensacola High School and married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Mac Cleveland on April 4, 1959. Mary was an avid tennis player for over 40 years, a member of the Newcomers Club, Officer's Wives Club, and wife of an Elk. She was a longtime active parishioner of St. Paul Catholic Church where she served in various capacities over the years. Mary was a supportive mother to her two children volunteering as a Cub Scout Den Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Swim Team Mom, where she enjoyed working concessions. Mary also volunteered at West Florida Hospital. She was an excellent Bridge player.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mac Cleveland; two brother, Louis B. Guttmann (Ali) and John B. Guttmann (Maxine); and a sister, Gwendolyn Guttmann.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa B. Dean (Steve); son, Mark Robert Cleveland (Kari); 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth Bennett, Lily Cleveland, and Abby Cleveland.
Visitation will be held 9:15am until the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 9:30am Friday, June 18, 2021, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Jack Campbell celebrant. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church or to Little Sisters of the Poor in Mobile, AL.
