Mary Ann
Coker
December 25, 1941 – December 14, 2021
Mary Ann Coker passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, days shy of her 80th birthday on Christmas day. She left us suddenly, briefly in the care of Homestead Village then Sacred Heart Hospital and Covenant Care Hospice to whom her extended family is most grateful.
A lifelong Pensacola resident and only child, Mary Ann was raised by her mother and maternal grandmother in East Hill. As a child, her father perished in action as an infantry soldier during WWII.
Mary Ann graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi then earned an MBA from the University of West Florida. She became a loyal caregiver in benefit to the families with children she supported locally. A devout Catholic, Mary Ann gave generously of her time as an active parishioner and volunteer at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. Coker and Annie Mae Coker. May Mary Ann Rest in Peace with them in God's loving embrace.
Visitation will be held 1:30pm until a Funeral Mass to begin at 2:00pm Monday, December 20, 2021, at The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, with Msgr. Michael Reed celebrant. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. All memorial service attendees are requested to wear a mask in deference to the family's wishes.
