Obituary

Mary Anne Durgan passed on Monday, March 18 th , 2019 from a burst aneurysm at age 71. She'd been scheduled for an aneurysm repair but just didn't make it to the procedure: she died in the hospital.

She leaves behind her two sons Bradford Kindergan, Mark Kindergan and wife, Laura; three grandchildren, Alden, Jack, and Benjamin; brother, John and his wife, Theresa; niece, Laura and her husband, Jeremy and their two children, Johnathan and Jessica; and cousins William, Katy, Judy, Jasper, Beverly, Mitchell, and Betty; along with several close second cousins.

She was born in Sendai, Japan in 1947 to Raymond "Bud" Charles Durgan, and Mary Eloise Thompson, where he was stationed during his Army service. She spent her early years travelling with her parents during his Army career, spending time in Japan, France, Egypt, and several places in the United States. She always reflected on her childhood time spent overseas with great fondness. Her travels continued through Vietnam, Italy, where she gave birth to two sons shortly after her first husband, Walter Kindergan, re-enlisted in the Navy, Europe, and Hawaii, where they were later stationed. She continued her love of travel through her retirement years travelling to the Caribbean and throughout the United States on various trips.

Her love of boating started at an early age at her grandfather's house on a lake in the Adirondacks and continued throughout her life. Most vacations after her children were born were spent at the family home in Florida where boating was a regular past-time. After retirement, she bought her own boat and joined the United States Power Squadron alongside her father. When her brother retired and also moved to Florida, they bought a boat together and enjoyed boating as a family.

Known for her love of life and generosity, she lit up rooms everywhere she went and was always available to friends in need. A devoted mother, she loved her family above all else and went out of her way to spend as much time with them as possible.

A private memorial service will be held at the family home in Panama City Beach, FL.
