Mary Alana Williams Holden, age 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at her daughter's home. She is resting in peace with her beloved family. She was a mother to all and never met a stranger. She had a strength and compassion like none ever seen and was the epitome of never giving up and that dreams do come true.
Better known to family and friends as Lana, she was born July 14, 1948 in Pensacola, FL at Pensacola Maternity Hospital. Conflicted with congenital spina bifida, she overcome many of its complications and lived life to the best of her abilities. She graduated from Pensacola High School in June 3, 1966 and was a graduate of Pensacola Junior College in June 1968. Following in her parents' footsteps, she was employed at Pensacola NAS in the clerical division for two years. She married Daniel Perry Holden March 28, 1970.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Allen Corbitt Williams, Sr. and Mary Etta Nutt Williams. She worked at the family business A. C. Williams Seafood Company Inc. in the early 1990s.
Surviving family members include her daughters, Candyce Holden and Laura Holden Holley (Patrick); two grandchildren, Alanah Megan Holley and Aubrey Allen Ryan Holley; a brother, Allen C. Williams, Jr. (Deenie); two nephews, Corbitt Williams and Daniel Williams; two aunts, Sarah and Maxine Williams; one uncle, John Haner, and numerous cousins. Extended family including Lynn and Robert Mitchell, Jessica Ellingson, John Hammac, Jennifer and Jacob Cain, Merrit Renfroe, Aron Warren, Amy Bounds, James Rottman, and Lissa Jo Monroe.
Visitation will be held 5-7pm Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00am Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Mission Anglican Church 609 N. Alcaniz St. with Father Ron Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery on Creighton Road.
Active Pallbearers will be Robert Mitchell, Daniel Williams, Tyler Curtis, Jacob Cain, John Hammac, and James Rottman, Jr.
The family would like to extend gratitude and appreciation to Regency Hospice and its nursing staff (Bobbie, Lyne, Rachel, Emily) for the excellent care given.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions and donations may be made to Regency Hospice and the American Cancer Association.
